WHAT IS A PSYCHOLOGIST?
Psychologists at Bright FACES are highly skilled healthcare professionals who support children and their families to build emotional wellbeing, resilience, and confidence in everyday life.
Individualised interventions aim to improve a range of skills, including emotional regulation, social interaction, behaviour management, self-esteem, and coping strategies.
Psychology focuses on collaborative goal setting with parents, caregivers, and teachers (where appropriate). Goals are regularly reviewed and adapted throughout therapy to ensure progress and ongoing support.
Our Psychologists work with children and adolescents who experience a range of socio-emotional challenges. These include difficulties with anger, anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression.
They also support children who have behavioural or developmental conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and Anxiety Disorders, providing strategies to help them manage emotions, improve behaviour, and enhance daily functioning.
Psychologists at Bright FACES work together with schools and families to support the child’s positive behavioural growth. Psychologists may also target social skills and enable the child to initiate, create and maintain friendships.
